“At first, I looked at a few websites and Sanirang seemed to be the most legitimate. I wasn’t sure I would be able to climb, but the skills I learned in class helped me overcome strength deficiencies. All safety procedures were constantly repeated and ingrained into the class’s memory. Each student knew their responsibilities very well because of repitition. Definitely, the instructors were friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, pleasant, patient and professional. I am sure I could be friends with each of them. I felt comfortable with them all from the beginning and the result was I relaxed and enjoyed myself. I have recommended SAN to everyone I know. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.”–Josh Wade
“Blood, sweat, and tears, but I finally made it to the top of Insubong. Five weeks of training and it was so freaking worth it. Huge thanks to everyone who helped me get here!”– Michelle Wilkolaski
“There is a first for everything, and my experience with Sanirang’s beginner climbing school brought many. My first spring in Korea; my first whole-hearted attempt to confront a fear of heights; my first rock climb, multi-pitch or otherwise; and my first view of Seoul from Insubong–albeit an exhausting first summit! And I’m so appreciative of these firsts because I was in the company of supportive, kick-in-the-pants instructors and fellow (now) ace climbers. Thanks, gang. Not only did I learn many exciting and practical skills, but I also found incredible camaraderie. And Peter, I’ll forever remember to just trust my feet.” –M. Kellyn Gross
“I would be impressed if anyone could find a better series of rock climbing courses than Sanirang Alpine Networks beginners rock climbing school. Peter and his staff are an extremely friendly group. For someone with no rock climbing skill they help you feel safe and comfortable from the beginning. Safety is number one, and they were great at catching any mistakes and giving pointers to keep everyone in one piece. Their class sizes are small so everyone can have the chance to ask questions and get great answers. Peter and his staff demonstrate everything first so you and your classmates can model your climbing after theirs. This gives everyone the confidence to trust in each other and check each others technique along the way. Be warned, you may find rock climbing addicting and want to do it again and again… even if you have to travel very long distances, riding in many taxis, on many buses and subways, and climbing very steep mountains. But it will be amazing, you will meet new friends, and you will see some of the best mountains in Korea. If rock climbing is something you have always wanted to try, this is the way to go.” –Ben Cooper

My only gripe is there were too many Australians on the course.” –Richard Murray (New Zealand)

“This Spring, under SAN’s cheerful guidance, our intermediate multi-pitch class transformed from single-pitch sport climbers to confident members on traditional multi-pitch routes. For me, being part of a class which transformed from hesitant rope tanglers to a smooth and efficient climbing team on our last multi-pitch climb up Insubong was both a wonderful experience and the ultimate testament to the excellence of the instruction. I highly recommend SAN’s Intermediate multi-pitch class. It will transform your climbing and leave you with new friendships and fond memories.”
