SAN Guided Ice Climbs is designed for the climber who feels comfortable with their ability to swing the axe‚ front point using basic N-Body techniques to ascend; but would rather leave the leading up to SAN. This is a great way to experience one of the many natural icefalls in Korea and enjoy the precarious views from above.
Clients must have prior vertical ice climbing experience to sign up for this type of a climb. The guided routes are chosen on the apparent experience level of the client*.
Venues may vary depending on the ice conditions and range in the outlaying areas of Seoul‚ GyeongGi and Gangwon Provinces. Regardless of the venue‚ you will be rewarded with the memory of the spectaculary surrounding scenery‚ the Korean ice climbing culture and the satisfaction of exposing yourself to the elements of winter.
Sanirang Alpine Networks understands how difficult buying gear in Korea can be. We also understand how expensive the necessary basic gear can be in order to learn how to climb, so because of this, SAN rents all of the necessary gear required to climb from head to toe at the cheap and reasonable rate of 5,000KRW per gear. Necessary gear includes: helmet, climbing slippers, harness, and belaying device set for 20,000KRW for everything. All clients are encouraged to bring their own gear or buy their own gear!
Come on out and join the fun–! *When the gear is out and the climbing begins‚ if the SAN guide/associate guide deems the client to be unfit to do the climb‚ the remainder of the day will be spent single top-roping various lines and practicing/reviewing skills. *Sanirang Alpine Networks requires the signing of a release of liablity form by all participants of any SAN related clinic‚ program‚ course or service and reserves the right to deny service to those who do not.
